There are lots of activities in and around Newton Stewart.

Calgow Equestrian Centre is less than a mile away.

Newton Stewart is home to a great cinema, golf course and museum.

Crafty Distillery is the new gin distillery and visitor centre with cafe just on the edge of Newton Stewart on the Wigtown road.  If you carry on down this road it will bring you to Bladnoch Whisky Distillery who also do tours or just enjoy lunch at their Cafe Melba.

Two miles up the New Galloway road takes you to the edge of the Galloway Forest Park where you can meet wild goats, red deer and climb the hill to visit Murrays Monument.  The Galloway Forest Park is also part of the Dark Sky Park where information boards can to viewed at Clatteringshaws Loch.

7 Stanes Mountain biking course is approx 5 miles away.  Less if you cycle there over Blackcraig Mines Hill.

Cream O' Galloway has great outdoor and indoor play areas as well as farm tours and delicious ice cream made on the farm.

There is a Walking Festival in May each year and the Traditional Music Festival in July.

There are several local beaches.  If you click on Mossyard Beach above it gives you a link to various local beaches.  When the tide goes out on some of these beaches it goes out a very long way.  To check tide times go to https://www.tideschart.com/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Dumfries-and-Galloway/Mossyard-Beach/
